A library with a slower aisle

This competition entry proposes two adjacent reading routes: a shared external-time aisle and a declared faster internal reading court. The route back is visible from every seat. An arriving resident chooses the time convention before crossing a threshold; remaining in the ordinary aisle is a full way to use the building.

The proposal’s design ratio is resident internal : external observer = 6:1. It is an entry parameter, not an installed service. The competition board has not recorded an award or a construction commission. Its drawings and questions remain separate from the completed projects in the index.

What the review asks

Can a late arrival understand the convention without interrupting another reader? Does the slow aisle expose a faster resident’s private reading history? Can someone leave without waiting for the reading court’s local session to finish?

We submitted a route diagram and a retained-record policy outline. The unresolved item is the boundary between a private annotation and a shared index. The entry asks for a negotiated record scope before implementation; it does not turn a proposed building into a completed precedent.
